Transparency MMENTO App

Privacy and ethics in the way we handle your repertory.

Last updated: 30 April 2026

Why this page exists

A magician's repertory is more than data. It contains routines that may have taken years to develop, ideas with real commercial value, and notes that are personal sometimes intimate. Many of the entries in a serious repertory have never been shared, and many never will be.

That places MMENTO in a position of considerable responsibility. This page exists to explain clearly and without ambiguity how we approach that responsibility.

It is intentionally written to be readable by anyone, not only by lawyers. The technical and legal details are formalised in our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

What we believe

We are building MMENTO from inside the magic community. The principles described here are not policies we follow because we are obliged to. They are the conditions under which we believe a tool like MMENTO can legitimately exist.

  • A magician's content belongs to the magician. Without exception.
  • The value of a repertory is recognised. The way we treat it must reflect that value.
  • Convenience never justifies looking at content that does not belong to us. Encryption, access controls, and internal policy enforce that principle.
  • Transparency is more useful than reassurance. We prefer to show our reasoning.

What we commit to, in plain terms

We do not sell your content

Your routines, notes, ideas, descriptions, images, and videos are not, and will never be, made available, licensed, or transferred to third parties for any commercial purpose. Under no circumstance does your content become a product.

We do not use your content to train artificial intelligence

This applies to our own systems and to any third-party systems. The artificial intelligence features integrated within MMENTO are not and will not be trained on the content of users' private repertories. Your repertory is not a training dataset and will not become one.

Your content is not analysed, sampled, or repurposed

Your repertory is not mined for trends, sampled for inspiration, used as market research, or repurposed in product development. It is not a data source from which we extract value of any kind. The infrastructure that hosts it exists for one reason: to serve it back to you when you open the App.

How your content is protected

Your content is stored on infrastructure located within the European Union. It is encrypted at rest and in transit, isolating it from external interception, third-party intrusion, and accidental exposure. Backups follow the same encryption standard, are retained for a limited period, and exist solely to enable service recovery in the event of failure.

Media files (images and videos) are delivered through a secure content delivery network. They are protected by access controls that prevent public exposure: a private item never becomes publicly retrievable, and links to your media are not browsable, indexable, or shareable outside your account.

The infrastructure as a whole is built around isolation, redundancy, and continuous monitoring. The integrity of your repertory is treated as a non-negotiable design constraint, not as a feature.

Legal exceptions

Like any service operating under European law, MMENTO is subject to obligations that may, in narrowly defined circumstances, require disclosure or examination of stored data. These circumstances are strictly limited to:

  1. Compliance with a binding legal request from a competent authority that we are legally required to act upon.
  2. A support request initiated by you that cannot otherwise be resolved. In that case, support is conducted through a live video session held on your own device: a member of the support team guides you while you operate the App, on your screen, with your active participation throughout. We do not access your account from our own systems. The session is limited to the specific elements you have raised, and lasts only as long as needed to resolve the issue.
  3. Investigation of a credible security incident, fraud, or abuse affecting the integrity of the service or the safety of its users. Where such an incident is confirmed, MMENTO will normally notify the account holder before suspending or permanently deleting the affected account in its entirety, unless prior notice would compromise the investigation or is prohibited by law.

These are exceptions, not operating practices. They exist because the law requires them, because you have asked us to act on your behalf, or because the integrity of the service depends on it.

What happens when you delete your account

When you choose to delete your account, the deletion is real.

  • Your account record is removed from our active systems.
  • Your User Content is removed in cascade, including notes, descriptions, images, and videos that you uploaded.
  • Residual copies may persist in encrypted backups for a maximum of thirty (30) days, after which they are permanently purged through automated routines.
  • Records that we are legally required to retain (for example, billing or tax records) are kept only for the minimum period required by applicable law, in isolated systems.

You do not need to ask us to delete content piece by piece. Deleting your account deletes everything tied to it.

The data we do collect, and why

To provide the App, we collect a limited set of personal data:

  • An email address and an authentication credential, so that you can sign in.
  • A name, profile photo, language preference, and approximate location, where you choose to provide them.
  • Subscription status, transmitted by the relevant mobile application store. We do not receive or store payment card data.
  • Technical diagnostics strictly necessary to operate the App and to keep it secure.

We do not collect data we do not need.

Your rights

At any time, you can:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct or update inaccurate data.
  • Delete your account and your content.
  • Withdraw consent for any processing based on consent.
  • Object to certain types of processing.
  • Lodge a complaint with the relevant data protection authority.

The mechanics of how to do this are described in our Privacy Policy.
